My husband and I were planning on renewing our wedding vows last summer when the issue came about of how to invite people to our very casual, beach party event. We had already had the big, proper wedding that made our parents happy, but wanted something to commemorate our first ten years together that was more our style. I was not finding anything remotely suitable to use for wedding invitations when my daughter volunteered to make one for me. She went to work with her crayons and markers and drew a picture of my husband and I, she and her brother, and our assorted and sundry pets on a beach with a great big sun shining. I knew as soon as I saw it that it was perfect! After adding some text, I took her creation to the local printer and he agreed that my daughter’s art work made for one of the best wedding invitations he had ever seen. My guests agreed and understood the tone of the party showing up in casual attire and ready for a day of fun.
