How is Tea Good for You?
There are a great number of antioxidants in tea, but just what are antioxidants? Oxidation is a normal process within the body, but it is accelerated by smoking, drinking and pollution. Antioxidants slow down the process of Oxidation by latching on to a cell to transfer electrons from that cell to an oxidizing agent. Thus making that cell healthier. The antioxidants in Green and Black tea are about 10 times higher than levels in other foods such as vegetables, thus making tea a great source to aid the body’s replenishment process. Antioxidants are very effective in the battle against cancer for example, but also good for healthier people. Countries in which tea is drank more such as Japan, have a much healthier population in terms of cancer and heart disease, and it is thought that black, green and certain other teas are the cause for this statistic. So drink up!
