These days there are so many weird scholarships out there that its almost impossible to go to some institutions without receiving one. Scholarships for music, art, sport financial reasons and academic pursuit have become a lot more popular over recent years. However, some universities now offer scholarships depending on what ethnicity you are, where you were born and how likely you are to be successful in life. This new method of handing out scholarships is causing much debate amongst students. It seems that some universities are now ranking their students on how likely they to succeed after they have finished their time there and rewarding them accordingly. This may seem unfair and I would argue it is verging on the Big Brother scenario invented by George Orwell in his novel 1984. But other would say this is a great way of encouraging those would are talented and successful to continue working hard and to develop into the leaders we need in our nation.
